The My Room Footy Show Telethon raises $1,550,002

 In Latest News

On Thursday 9 August the My Room Footy Show Telethon on Channel Nine raised an amazing $1,550,002 to help beat childhood cancer.

My Room is a volunteer organisation that is dedicated to raising funds to achieve a 100 per cent cure rate for childhood cancers.

Last year, an incredible $1 million was raised at the My Room Footy Show Telethon, and we are ecstatic to have beaten this year’s goal of raising $1.5 million!

My Room, Channel Nine and The Footy Show came together for the annual three-hour special episode of The Footy Show to help raise funding to support children with cancer.

Sam Newman, Billy Brownless and Shane Crawford were joined by AFL players, TV personalities and local celebrities, who answered the phone line to collect donations.

All of the funds raised go directly to My Room to support research, clinical trials, medical equipment and family care and support for children battling with cancer.

The Monash Children’s Hospital Cancer Centre is a beneficiary of My Room. Already, My Room has committed $1.2 million to support patients at Monash Children’s Hospital.

A special thank you to My Room, Channel 9, The Footy Show, all the generous donors who called in and the wonderful volunteers who answered the phones.
