Monash Children’s Hospital School celebrates Book Week
The Monash Children’s Hospital School celebrated Book Week with a special reading session and costume parade through the hospital.
Patients, families, staff and volunteers dressed up as characters from their favourite books and paraded through the wards smiling and waving at their friends.
Colin Dobson, Principal of the Monash Children’s Hospital School, read one of his favourite books ‘The Terrible Plop’ to the children with the help of one our patients.
On Wednesday, Wild Action came to visit the school and our patients had the opportunity to learn about and interact with exciting sea creatures, including seahorses, jellyfish, sharks and crocodiles!
On Friday the children went on an exciting treasure hunt throughout the hospital to collect stamps on their Book Week passports and find special hidden treasure.
Our patients had a wonderful week dressing up as their favourite book characters, learning about reading and enjoying fun activities socialising with the other children at Monash Children’s Hospital!
