Monash University is proud to be the academic and research partner for the new Monash Children’s Hospital.

The new Children’s Hospital, and the partnership between Monash University and Monash Health, presents an exceptional opportunity to combine our strengths in education, paediatric research, and paediatric care to deliver critical research breakthroughs to patients in the local community.

Monash University’s research and education headquarters for paediatrics is now co-located within the new Monash Children’s Hospital and led by Head of Department, Professor Katrina Williams.

Bringing together world-leading researchers, educators, and translational research in paediatrics, this partnership gives Monash students and clinician-scientists unparalleled access to patients, research facilities and collaborative opportunities throughout Monash University’s global partner network.

The new hospital has dedicated education and training spaces where students have access to state-of-the-art facilities for learning, and researchers are part of the hospital community.

These facilities include a medical simulation centre, a procedural skills laboratory, tutorial areas and open plan space for researchers – as well as a leading edge paediatric surgical simulation centre where students will experience the real environment of an operating theatre and practice non-surgical patient care scenarios.
