Monash Health provides Nutrition and Dietetics services to Monash Children’s Hospital patients both in an acute setting within our hospitals, within the home and out in the community.
Dietetic services
The Dietetics team at Monash Children’s Hospital provide evidence-based care and are available to consult on all aspects of paediatric nutrition. This includes, nutrition screening, assessment of nutritional needs, recommendations for nutritional management, implementation of therapeutic diets and discharge education and planning.
Home Enteral Nutrition Program
Children requiring home tube feeding can be registered for the Home Enteral Nutrition (HEN) Program. This is a government funded initiative that allows us to provide families with equipment and formula required for tube feeding. This program is available only to public patients who attend Monash Children’s Hospital for their medical management.

Monash Children’s Hospital Dietetics service only accepts referrals from within Monash Health. Referrals can be made via EMR for inpatients and SMR e-Referrals for outpatients.
