Minister for Mental Health officially opens the new ELMHS Stepping Stones
The Victorian Minister for Mental Health, Martin Foley visited Monash Children’s Hospital on Tuesday 13 March to officially open the new Early in Life Mental Health Service (ELMHS) Stepping Stones facility.
Minister Foley toured the facility and spoke to staff on how the new site will enhance the services offered.
ELMHS provides specialist multidisciplinary assessment and treatment to children and young people up to 25 years including those with severe and complex psychological, behavioural and psychiatric problems. The new facility houses the Stepping Stones Adolescent Inpatient Unit and a new Children’s Neurodevelopment Unit.
Minister Foley said, “This world class children’s hospital can now offer the very best mental health care for families in the south east in the very best facilities.”
