Healesville Sanctuary visit to Monash Children’s Hospital

 In Latest News

Healesville Sanctuary made a special visit in November with cute and cuddly native wildlife, bringing smiles and laughter to our hospital.

“More than a dozen baby animals, including marsupials and birds came to visit,” said Dr Rupert Baker, Acting Director Healesville Sanctuary.

“This was the sixth year we’ve brought our native wildlife to Monash Children’s Hospital, and we were thrilled to make the trip again.”

Professor Jim Buttery, Monash Children’s Hospital, said if we can find a way of making children’s experience in hospital a positive one, it makes it a much better place for them to be cared for.

The new Monash Children’s Hospital, which is opening early 2017, has been designed to include innovative space for Healesville Sanctuary visits and wildlife education sessions.
