Emergency

The paediatric emergency service is located within the emergency departments at Monash Medical Centre, Dandenong Hospital and Casey Hospital, and operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

After hours access 

The main reception will close at 8pm. After-hours access to Monash Children’s Hospital and Monash Medical Centre is via the emergency department.

Construction works in September 2026

Construction work is currently taking place in the Monash Children’s Hospital drop-off area. During these works, there are NO disabled parking bays available. Patients and visitors with a disability parking permit or who have limited mobility should park in the public multideck at Monash Medical Centre (see map below).

Parking

Patients and visitors can park in the public multideck car park and at the Monash Medical Centre or the Monash Children’s Hospital drop-off on Fregon Road. Please visit the Monash Health website for parking information and fees.

Street parking around the hospital is very limited and is mostly restricted to 1 or 2 hour duration. Parking inspectors patrol the area regularly.

The pedestrian pathway from the public multideck car park to Dixon Street is now closed, due to construction works taking place. Patients and visitors will need to enter Monash Medical Centre via the main entry and walk inside the building to access Monash Children’s Hospital (refer to map below).

Public transport

If you are travelling by train, the closest railway station to Monash Children’s Hospital Clayton is Clayton, which is on the Pakenham and Cranbourne lines. The hospital is a five minute walk from the station along Clayton Road.

If you are travelling by bus, bus routes 631, 703 and 733 stop outside of the main entrance of Monash Medical Centre, which is co-located beside Monash Children’s Hospital.
