Patients and families set-up 

To set-up and dial into your Telehealth appointment, follow the steps below:

  1. Read through the setup guide (see below) to prepare for your appointment
  2. Conduct a test call (see instructions below) to ensure your connection and equipment are in working order
  3. Click the ‘Join my Telehealth appointment’ button
  4. Select your clinic from the drop-down menu and follow the prompts

If you’re unsure which clinic your appointment is with, check your email appointment letter or contact:

Setup guide: What you will need to make a Telehealth video call

Before your Telehealth appointment please review the setup guide to ensure you’re prepared with the appropriate equipment required.

Making a test call

It’s a good idea to make a test call prior to your Telehealth consultation, to ensure everything is in working order before the actual appointment with your Monash Children’s Hospital specialist.

To conduct a test call, click the ‘Test call’ button above and follow the instructions.

If you are having problems with your internet connection, browser, camera image or sound, please follow these troubleshooting steps or view this quick troubleshooting guide.

Further assistance, rescheduling and cancellations

If you require further assistance, or need to reschedule or cancel your Telehealth appointment, please contact us at the relevant clinic for the following. You will need your child’s name and date of birth and or UR number. Please specify the appointment was via video appointment.

If you are in the video call and you are unable to join, we will attempt to call you on the phone number you provided when you started the video call.

To set-up and dial into your Telehealth appointment, follow the steps below:

  • If you haven’t participated in a Telehealth appointment recently, please conduct a test call (see instructions below) to ensure your connection and equipment are in working order
  • Log into your Health Direct account via the staff login button above. Please note this is different to your Monash Health staff login.
  • Select the appropriate waiting area and follow the prompts.

Selecting the correct browser

Always use Google Chrome as your browser for video consulting via Telehealth.

You can update your browser from chrome://help/, or download new at www.google.com/chrome.

Using Bluejeans to consult with more than four sites

If you are hosting a video consult with more than four sites, use your Monash Health “Bluejeans” account to create a meeting and send it via email to your participants. Remember you will have to use Google Chrome as your browser.

If you don’t have a Bluejeans account on your Outlook email, contact Monash Health IT Services on ext. #42275 or log a call.

MBS eligibility

Is the patient eligible for Telehealth through MBS? Remoteness Area 2 through to Remoteness Area 5 are eligible for MBS billing (RA1-RA5).

To find out, enter the patient address into the ‘Enter a location’ field on this page.
